We’re Not Like a Traditional Bank
Floridacentral is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial cooperative. That means we’re structured differently from a traditional bank, with a focus on serving our members and the communities we call home.
We’re Not-for-Profit
Unlike a traditional for-profit bank, Floridacentral operates for the benefit of our members rather than outside shareholders. Earnings are reinvested into the credit union to support member value.

We’re Member-Owned
When you become a Floridacentral member, you become part of the credit union. We don’t answer to outside shareholders, allowing us to keep our focus on the financial well-being of our members.

Our History
Serving Florida Since 1958
Floridacentral’s story began in 1958 as Tampa Central Credit Union, originally established to serve other credit unions.
As we grew, our field of membership expanded to include employees of select companies, and we eventually became Florida Central Credit Union.
Today, Floridacentral serves more than 50,000 members and more than 1,000 Select Employee Groups through 12 branch locations across Florida.
While our name, locations, and services have evolved over the years, our purpose remains the same: helping our members build stronger financial futures through personalized service and financial solutions designed around their needs.
Florida isn’t just where we do business. It’s home. We’re proud to serve the people and communities that make the Sunshine State such a special place to live.
